TREXA Material Expands Availability In Essilor Transitions Lenses

By Essilor News

01/05/2016

Essilor of America, the nation's leading manufacturer of optical lenses, announces the expansion of its range of popular Transitions® lenses for most Essilor lens designs in TREXA® material. Beginning on January 26, Transitions® XTRActive® lenses in TREXA material will be available in gray, brown, and graphite green while Transition® Signature™ VII lenses in TREXA material will now be available in brown and graphite green, in addition to gray.

TREXA lenses outperform standard plastic lenses to deliver patients enhanced visual benefits and are available in a wide variety of premium designs. In addition, TREXA, a new Trivex-based material is thinner, lighter and stronger than standard plastic.

“The expanded range of Essilor Transitions lenses will provide eyecare professionals with more options to provide patients with a vibrant visual experience for protection in any light,” said Lauri Crawford, senior vice president of marketing, Essilor of America.

“Transitions lenses automatically adjust to changing light conditions, so patients can always see their best whether they are inside or outside. Also, they help provide protection from harmful UV and blue light.”

Transitions Signature VII lenses provide outstanding outdoor performance without sacrificing indoor clarity, making them the ideal replacement for clear lenses while offering eye protection from fatigue and eye-strain. Transitions Signature VII lenses are a great solution for those who move from indoors to outdoors throughout the day and desire outdoor comfort, but only with full clarity indoors.

Designed to be extra dark in the brightest light and hottest conditions, Transitions XTRActive lenses provide extra protection from light outdoors, indoors and even in the car. Transitions XTRActive lenses achieve up to a category two darkness behind the windshield to protect eyes from sunlight while driving, and the lenses maintain a comfortable hint of tint to shield the eyes from the effects of harsh indoor lighting. Transitions XTRActive lenses are ideal for those who spend more time outdoors and in the car and want extra protection due to light sensitivity or are especially concerned about eye health.
